Henderson says wanting to avoid the squeeze following damning reports of Red Dead Redemption 2 development is one of the reasons why development is so stunted. A report last year claimed that Grand Theft Auto 6, allegedly early in development at the time, would launch as a mid-size game, with Rockstar intending to expand it with regular post-launch updates.įinally, Henderson also states that the game probably won’t be released for some time, and could even launch as late as 2025, which Rockstar can surely afford, given the continued success of GTA 5.
Henderson’s video also claims that the game will feature a map that grows and changes over time, comparing it to Fortnite. Vice City being the setting for the game and having the series’ first female protagonist are details that have also surfaced in previous rumors. Henderson also states that, like its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto 6 is going to have several playable protagonists, one of which will be a female. While we’ve only seen Vice City in the ’80s so far, Henderson says Rockstar doesn’t want a period setting to limit the online component of the game. Known industry insider Tom Henderson has a strong history of leaks, especially when it comes to Battlefield and Call of Duty, and recently he uploaded a video on the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6- which he says will take place in today’s Vice City (via GamesRadar). That there will be a new Grand Theft Auto at some point it’s inevitable, and a new rumor may have revealed potential details about the game. Grand Theft Auto 5 is an absolute juggernaut, having sold over 145 million copies and showing no signs of slowing down, and it is because of this success that we have gone so long without a new RGT Game.
